What the official sources support
Re-verified 1 August 2026: Non-Immigrant ED is for full-time education, qualifying training or internship and other published education programmes. DTV is for workcation, named Thai activities or qualifying family members. A reader should select by genuine purpose and the current checklist of the mission that will process the application.

Choosing the route
ED fits an applicant whose actual purpose and documents are education or qualifying training. DTV may fit a documented workcation or named activity. Neither comparison replaces the mission's current checklist, and questions about work permission should be checked separately against current Department of Employment rules.
