Intent owner: the retirement Non-O guide maintains the current national thresholds, seasoning and post-approval balance rules from Immigration Bureau Order 12/2568, clause 2.22. Those numerical rules were rechecked 22 August 2026. This page does not restate them as a second source of truth; Jomtien may request additional local evidence for the selected route.

The Immigration retirement public handbook and Thai Immigration service guidance, checked 1 August 2026, support the national TM7 evidence and fee framing used here.

Who this guide is for

This guide is for a person preparing an in-country retirement-extension application at the office responsible for a Chonburi address. It is not a first-time consular visa guide or the national numerical-rule owner. Check the current Non-O retirement criterion first; for O-A differences, see Non-O vs O-A.

Where to apply — Jomtien Immigration

For a Chonburi address, confirm jurisdiction with Chonburi Immigration. Its official service directory, checked 23 August 2026, publishes the Jomtien office at 75/265 Soi 5, Jomtien Beach Road, Moo 12, Nong Prue, Bang Lamung, Chonburi 20150, with weekday service periods of 08:30–12:00 and 13:00–16:30. These are office-level facts, not a promise that a particular application, walk-in or queue will be accepted that day. Use the Jomtien office guide for current contact numbers, holidays, service boundaries and the absence of an official wait-time dataset.

Official core documents and local checks

Bank letter — where extensions fail

The official criteria reviewed on 1 August 2026 require a Thai bank deposit certificate and a copy of the account evidence for the bank route. They do not say a mobile screenshot substitutes for that evidence.

National rule boundary: the full-deposit and combination routes do not use one interchangeable later balance floor. The exact seasoning and retention rules were rechecked 22 August 2026 and are maintained on the retirement Non-O owner page. Use that rule first, then ask Jomtien how it wants the relevant account history documented.

Jomtien variation: the official Chonburi page does not publish one universal bank-letter age or accepted account-type list. Confirm the issue date, same-day passbook update, transaction history and account type with the office before applying.

Opening or seasoning accounts: Thai bank account guide.

Timing window

The national criterion rechecked 22 August 2026 does not establish one universal Jomtien “apply within 30 days” service window. Ask Jomtien when it will accept the application and apply before the current permitted-stay date. Processing time is not guaranteed; leave time for additional evidence.

After approval

Common Jomtien rejection reasons

Jomtien has not published a complete rejection list in the official sources checked on 1 August 2026. The handling officer determines whether the submitted evidence meets the selected national route and any current local evidence request.

Non-O vs O-A at extension time

Non-O and Non-O-A are different categories and do not share one evidence pack. Confirm the category shown in the passport, then use the maintained O-A insurance requirements for the current insurance rule instead of transferring it into this Non-O checklist.

FAQ

Can I extend at Bangkok Immigration instead?

Use the office responsible for the registered address. A Chonburi resident should confirm jurisdiction with Jomtien rather than assume another province will accept the application.

Joint bank account?

The official criteria require the qualifying deposit evidence for the applicant. They do not clearly publish a joint-account calculation in the handbook reviewed 1 August 2026, so ask Jomtien before relying on one.

Can I work on a retirement-based permission?

The retirement category does not itself authorise employment. Work authorisation depends on the immigration category and labour rules; check with the relevant government office.

First extension vs renewal

Both applications are assessed against the current national criterion, but the evidence available in the passport and bank history differs between a first extension and a later annual application. Bring the prior endorsement and ask Jomtien whether it needs any additional local continuity evidence.

Using an agent — when it helps

An agent cannot change the published eligibility criteria. If using a representative, confirm whether personal attendance is still required, obtain a written fee breakdown and never rely on an offer to bypass the financial rule. This site does not publish an unverified agent price range.
