Full guide: Privilege Elite visa · Privilege vs LTR · Privilege glossary
What Privilege Elite is
Thailand Privilege Card programme (formerly Elite) — paid membership granting long-stay visa privileges via TPC. Not employment visa. VIP airport lanes, government concierge, multi-year stay without annual Jomtien extension queue for members. Popular Pattaya retirees wanting hassle reduction and airport services.
Tiers (2026 overview)
- Elite Easy Access: 5-year, lower fee
- Elite Superiority / Premium: 10–20 year options, family add-ons
- Verify current fees at official TPC site — marketing brochures outdated quickly
Renewal process
- Contact TPC membership services before expiry — Bangkok HQ coordinates
- Renewal application + passport + fee
- Clean immigration record required — overstay blocks renewal
- TPC coordinates visa sticker update through immigration channels
Do not overstay membership end — privileges lapse immediately; re-application may require full fee again.
What Privilege does NOT include
- Work permit or Thai employment
- RD 743 tax benefits (unlike LTR)
- Automatic PR
- ED enrollment permission
Privilege vs LTR for Pattaya retiree
Privilege: pay fee, minimal paperwork, concierge, no BOI asset proof.
LTR: lower long-term cost for high asset/income individuals; tax efficiency on foreign income with RD 743.

Family add-ons
Spouse and dependent children on supplementary Privilege membership — separate fee tier. Children ageing out may need ED or other visa — plan before 20th birthday. Pattaya international schools accept Privilege holder parents for enrollment documentation similarly to other long-stay visas.
Downgrade and upgrade between tiers
Moving Easy Access to Premium mid-membership — contact TPC for pro-rata rules. Downgrade rare — usually new application at expiry.
Overstay during membership lapse
Membership expired but still in Thailand — overstay accrues even if previously Elite holder. Renew before expiry date on card.
Membership lapse while abroad
Outside Thailand when membership expires — contact TPC before re-entry. Overstay if entry on expired Elite privileges — treat membership expiry like visa expiry calendar event.
Comparison with Non-O annual extension hassle
Privilege renewal mostly administrative via TPC — no Jomtien queue if membership current. Trade-off: upfront fee vs annual 800K bank proof. Retirees 70+ with assets often still choose Non-O for cost.
Fee increases
TPC adjusts fees periodically — budget 10–15% contingency on renewal quote. Family add-ons renew separately.
Compare renewal vs fresh application if TPC launches lower tier — new application sometimes cheaper than legacy renewal. Unused airport credits may not roll over.
Report lost membership card before travel — airport fast lane denied without valid card even if membership active in system.
Elite members working in Thailand still need work permit — Privilege does not authorise employment despite long stay convenience.
Pattaya golf and country club memberships sometimes bundled in Elite sales pitches — verify inclusions in written TPC contract not agent verbal promises before paying five-figure USD fee.
Renewal processing time often 4–8 weeks — do not book non-refundable flights assuming instant renewal confirmation.
Contact TPC membership line in writing email not LINE only — written confirmation of renewal amount and deadline protects against agent miscommunication common in Pattaya Elite reseller channel.
